Private Parrot Training $150/Session

Hire a professional trainer to help you reach your training goals! When you contact Positive Outcomes for parrot training, you will schedule an initial 1 hour behavior consultation session ($175) where you will discuss your bird’s history, behavior, and your training goals in detail. Trainer Mariah will use the information provided in this session to create a training, management, and enrichment plan for your parrot that is tailored specifically to their needs. All subsequent sessions are $150 per hour, the recommended number of sessions will depend on your goals. 30 minute check-in sessions over Zoom are also available to established clients for $75.

Positive Outcomes offers in-home training sessions to clients within service range as well as virtual sessions for those located anywhere else! Mariah will coach you through how to set your bird up for success and teach them the behaviors in their training plan.

When working with Positive Outcomes Pet Training you will only be taught the most up-to-date, science-based training methods.

I can help with:

  • Foundation Behaviors: Teach your bird foundation behaviors that will make your life easier. Have a bird that willingly steps-up, comes when called, follows where you want them to go, stations, and knows how to shred toys.

  • Building Trust: Turn your shy guy into a social butterfly by building a strong reinforcement history based on respect and trust.

  • No More Biting: Are you dealing with frequent bites? Let’s end all painful forms of communication! I’ll teach you how to recognize when your bird politely says “no thank you,” so that they no longer feel the need to escalate to a bite. Then I’ll teach you how to use positive reinforcement to get them to do things you want, without using force (which often leads to biting).

  • Stop Attention Screaming: Parrots are loud, that’s just a part of who they are, but if you have a bird that screams incessantly for attention, let me help you cultivate more peace and quiet so that you can relax in your own home.

  • Address Hormonal Behavior: Is your parrot treating you like more than “just a friend?” When our birds start viewing us as a mate, it can lead to all kinds of undesirable behaviors, as well as cause great frustration for the bird. Let’s make some changes to help curb those hormonal impulses.

  • End Destructive Chewing: Has your bird been using their beak to renovate your home? Oh you didn’t need holes in your cupboard doors? Let me help you teach your bird what TO chew (enrichment and toys)!
