Force Free Animal Training

KPA CTP, CPAT-KA
Hi I’m Mariah, I own Positive Outcomes Pet Training LLC. I am a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA CTP), a Certified Professional Animal Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPAT-KA), and have completed Susan Friedman’s Living and Learning with Animals course for behavior professionals. I am passionate about using positive reinforcement with all species of animals (including people), and am committed to using the least intrusive, minimally aversive training techniques possible.
I take a holistic approach to animal training that includes ensuring that the animal's physical, social, and emotional needs are being appropriately met in combination with training new skills through positive reinforcement. I am a fear free/force free trainer, meaning that I do not train using any aversive tools or techniques. No choke chains, prong collars, or e-collars. Let me show you how we can change your animal's behavior without using pain or fear!
I’ve been working in the animal care industry for over 15 years and first started out as a dog trainer back in 2007. Since then, I have majored in Wildlife, Fish & Conservation Biology with a minor in Education at UC Davis and have worked in a variety of animal care facilities including wildlife rehabilitation, zoos, and animal shelters. I worked as a zookeeper for 6 years and have cared for a great variety of exotic species including giraffes, penguins, wolves, parrots, lemurs, anteaters and many more!
See below to check out just a few of the amazing animals I have worked with over the years!
In addition to my work as a private trainer, I also work as a Canine Welfare Training Technician at Guide Dogs for the Blind.
